Wheel/Tire Combos

I thought this was an interesting footnote off the 2006 Chevy truck wheel and tire option page:

"Use only GM-approved wheel/tire combinations. See dealer for details."

This may be GM's way of protecting themself when someone upsizes from the stock 245's.

This may be GM's way of protecting themself when someone upsizes from the stock 245's. I see 20", 22" even 24" aftermarket wheel/tire combos on new GM trucks at many dealers, so, they must be a GM-approved wheel/tire combo, or?
