Which is the Best Permatex for Gasketing ?

Which one is best for gasketing material on Trans Pans and Differential covers.

**I'm using synthetic oil if that makes a difference.

"3M" makes a product in a squeeze tube tha is absolutely leak proof!
i'll get a part number in the a.m.
"O'Rielly's" sells it.

For regular gaskets, the best thing I have ever used is Curil K2. Made in Germany so its expensive, but worth it. You can get it HERE. (http://www.bus-boys.com/bbzvc.htm)

in my dads shop we never used sealer on diff covers or trans pans ,if you take the time to make sure the edges are flat they won't leak, and don't over tighten the bolts.thats the main problem with things leaking,people figure if a little is good alot is better.you can always tighten a loose bolt if it leaks but you can't tighten a tight bolt.

Which one is best for gasketing material on Trans Pans **I'm using synthetic oil if that makes a difference. NONE on the trans pan. NEVER sealer on a transmission. The OE gaskets are typically reuseable, but if it is bad, get a new one from the dealer.


For diff covers, I often use a paper gasket, but if I goop it, I like Permatex ultra black, OR just ask for the "Right Stuff" in a cheez wiz can.
