2006 Pricing and Rebates

I have a 2002 D/A with 33,500 miles and had planned on keeping it. But,I made the mistake of talking to my salesman and he made me a offer I could not refuse. A couple of questions:
The deal is not final because it was based on 2005 pricing and a rebate of $2,000 that expiers on 9/5. Any ideas were these two are headed?
I ordered the 3500 SRW, will I see much difference from my 2002?
I trust my dealer not to play any games.

I would keep the 02. It is gonna cost you money to trade, regardless of the amount it is cheaper to keep the old truck with such low milage..Save you money for fuel and drive the 02..JMHO...

I would have to agree with Paintdude. With such low miles on your 02, if you haven't had serious problems with it that is. My 02 was a great truck (WISH I HAD IT BACK). My 05 LLY is having serious overheating issues. You could get lucky and get a good one, but I wouldn't advise anyone to purchase an 05 if you are going to pull with it!

WOW, this is incrediable, what bad news for GM. I can trade for about $3,000 per year and I thought that was low, plus getting a new truck. Now I realy have to rethink this issue. I will be towing a 12,500# fifth wheel.

I will start by saying I had a 2001 duramax truck and now own a 2004.5 lly truck. I know the 2001 pulled better and had more details that are often over looked, like glove box light, under hood lights, I am sure there is more but nothing comes to mind...... the 2004.5 lly truck gets slightly worse fuel economy, its had 1 injector and needs 1 more (ballance rates are off and skips when its cold but still runs ok warm). the EGR and cat in my opinion only kill the good things this motor had going for it, they claim power is up from the first year but I cant prove it! I am thinking long and hard about a 2006 only because of existing problems with my 04 and the 6 speed allison sould get better economy empty if they keep the 3:73 rear end ration.... the trans is really the biggest factor for me, I often drive 120 mile a day empty and 600 miles a weekend in the winter pulling 6~7K so with the price of fuel these day 2 mpg is a big deal! I currently get 15~16 mpg empty at 70~75 mph crew cab 4x4 stock size tires.my 2001 extra cab 4x4 would get 17+ given the same conditons!
