Is there a stock replacement for the Diff Cover that will fit my 93 Dually that has a drain plug on it?

--I'd like to replace the stock cover, But don't want to spend $150 or more for the fancy aluminum ones.

Thanks in Advance

How about drilling and tapping the housing?

you would have to get a threaded "bung", drill a hole in the cover so that the bung would slide in the hole, weld it up and put plug in it.

the cover itself would not hold a plug, and there is not a place on the cover "flat" enough to seal.

Bill, if you can't afford the high price covers like the Mag-Hytec with magnetic drain plug/dipstick, and temp probe tap, then why not just remove the rear cover and wipe the inside of the housing with a clean rag. Also install a magnet in the bottom. Even if you weld a threaded socket to the rear cover (when its off the housing) you may warp it. Plus it not on the bottom anyway. I'd just clean and refill when needed. smile.gif
