csimo-I read in one other post that the 3500 should take 75w140.Is this not right.And yes I have a locker.Does the front end take the same oil or different.Thanks

I am not csimo but the question on rear differential lubes was discussed many times. I brought up an old thread on this called: "Eaton's Recommendations on Locking Rear Diff Service" in this same forum.

I recommend reading it. It also talks about the two different weight oils. There is no difference between the 2500HD rear differential and the 3500 rear differential requirements.

I do not have a front differential so I claim no knowledge of that equipment.

I don't remember the exact specifications for the front axle lube, but I do remember that I used the same synthetic lube as the rear.

If my memory serves me correctly, the viscosity for the front is supposed to be the same 75w90 but there is no requirement to use synthetic lube. I used synthetic anyway.

Rear is 75w-90 synthetic or 75w-140 synthetic
front is 80w-90 or you can run a 75w-90 synthetic
This is from memory so I may be wrong but im almost pretty sure

First I would like to thank everybody for there replys & all the other members that have offered a lot of good info. that I have put to good use.Now I was hoping that I could run 75w140 in the front & the rear because I was just ging to buy a 5 gal.pal & have it around.
