This is a Suburban that is going to be at next week's SEMA 2002 show. I'm pretty sure it was done by GM, so why couldn't they put this front clip (minus the air intakes) on the 2003 HD's? Since we can't post images on the forum you'll have to copy and paste into a new browser window:

I'd buy it! I like that much better than the transformer spin-off front end!

That frontend looks a heck of a lot better!!!!

That is better! I don't know WHY the general decided to get rid of that cool 2001-2002 HD hood! Makes the HD look like every other Chevy going down the road.

At least the GMC has kept that "retro look" (as described by the die-hard Chevy guys around here) and stayed true to form for at least another year.... ;)

Thats one sweet lookin' Burban!

Add Duramax, sell them like HOTCAKES!!!

Geeze, all this FREE engineering advice that I'm giving GM....I think I need a raise!!

Wow! I went with GMC because I didn't like the new Chevy look. But that is one good looking vehicle. I like the raised hood too.

Man, that looks great! Now just add the D-Max and GM will have a hit :D

Well, I guess that settles it.

Since it would be a hit and everbody likes it...

GM won't build it.

All product suggestions should be submitted directly to the GM New Devices Section. You can write to them at:

New Devices Section
General Motors Corporation
General Motors Technical Center
Warren, Michigan 48090

The New Devices Section will contact the appropriate divisions to determine whether the submission is of interest to General Motors. They are also available to reply to questions regarding General Motors submissions policies.

Print the Sub pic and and send it in with a note...THE '03 FRONT END BITES! Please change it for the '04s! Can we have a front end option...the good one or the other one? See pic for desired front end...

Silver Bullet:

I already tried that. They also have a note on that site that says they WILL NOT accept any product suggestions that relate to design and aestethics .....

Maybe someone knows where we can email GM links to this discussion.

2002 front end says HEAVY DUTY the 2003 front end says 1500

Too bad - just when it looked like Chevy had left the mongoloid hoods behind. To each his own. I pulled the blunt nose off my 02 as fast as UPS could get me a cowl induction replacement. As for a "heavy duty" look - that doesn't have to mean bulbous. Chevy's just pulled a page from GMC's book. The Sierras have always had the same design on the 1500s and 2500s, but that seems to escape the Averado critics.

Apart from the unique up-turned bumper on the GMC and the slightly more angular lights on the Chev, they're now virtually identical.

Seriously GMC guys, can you really say you liked the old Chev HDs better than the new ones? Just some Chevy boys whose toys are yesterday's news and their GMC buddies giving them a shoulder to cry on. tongue.gif

Sk,
Do you know were I can get that bumper? Or is this truck edited on the computer.

That may be the new SS bumper. Notice the ram air vents?

martiuk

True but it seems to mate with the old grill. The bumper I have now is dented so I am looking for one. I own the 2001 style hd.
Thanks,
Mark

martiuk:

Sorry -- I can't help. All I know is that the truck was done by General Motors in conjunction with Lucchese (the boot company). The whole interior is outfitted in Lucchese leather and boy is it fugly (which is a shame because Lucchese leather is comfy)! Maybe after SEMA dies down they'll release more info on it. Maybe Lucchese could tell you who crafted the front skirt.

It hit me today as I keep coming back to this pic b/c I really like it...I think the front end looks a little like a Trailblazer.
