I can't figure out why?

I dropped in at my local dealer which had two identcal '02 3500 D/A 4x4 CC. After looking over the window sticker the Allison trasmission has jumped up to $2280.00. :eek: The other is still at $1200.00. Any clues why? The dealer couldn't figure out why either. They're going to try to find out on Mon. Hopefully I'll be tooling around in a new truck soon if this can be resolved. smile.gif

Buy the one which cost LESS! :D The dealer knows.....GM probably had a price increase between the two different build dates. Look at the white sticker on the frame just under the front doors. It should have a production date, compare the two.

You don't say what the trim level is on the two trucks.
For Chevrolet the auto(not the Allison)is standard on the LT package so you pay the difference between a 4L80E and the Allison.
The LS and below trim package the auto is an option, manual is standard so you pay 2280 for the Allison.
GMC does it differently and I'm not sure where the auto becomes standard.

If they are identical trucks why does it matter that one costs more than the other?? Buy the cheaper one and get the deal!!

So it might be a package deal then afterall. One with the 1200 Allison is a LT with a bunch of dealer add on's and drove the price of it up to over 47,000 MSRP. The other one that's 2280 is an LS with all the goodies recommended here. Thanks for the info. BTW.. the first deal they offered was $500 over invoice.

Update:
Ok, I went to the chevrolet site and went thru the pricing once again. The upgrade for the Allison in the LT is $1200 and on the LS is $2295.
