Hello,
I have a 2500hd cc. I would like some opinions on the new DUELER A/T REVO tire. I am looking at the 265 75 16 size.
Thanks,
Mark

martiuk,

except for the size you mention, i just put this tire on my 3500. i got 50000 miles out of the original skins which i was really happy with. we're full time rvers so we make a lot of miles. i went with the bridgestone revo for a couple reasons. first, they were a few dollars less than competitive brands, which adds up when you're buying six of them. this tire is also snow rated which appealed to me since we spend winters in the southwest and do get into ski country off and on. i don't fully understand tread wear ratings, but these tires do have a tread wear rating of 500 which i think is more than the original tires had. i am hoping that results in more miles than i got out of the originals. if you haven't seen them, they do have a unique tread design which may turn some people off. i don't pay much attention to that--i just want miles.

flarsen,
I had the Revo's installed on my 3500 and like you said, they are great in the ice and snow and as a bonus they have absolutely no vibration at any speed. I'd recommend them to anyone. :D

Interesting.....

I just called my "AMERICA'S" tire store and
they carry a 60,000 mile warrenty on my stock tires
which are Goodyear Wranglers AT/S 215/85

Those Bridgestones carry a 50,000 mile warrenty as indicated on the website.

I'm not ready for tires yet..... but it's good to
know our options.

56Nomad,
I heard about these tires last year, but found out that they wouldn't be available in "The Great White North" until January 2002. When I ordered the tires through a dealer in Edmonton,AB, the warehouse in Vancouver had 10 in my size.....I got 6 of them.
I had Michelin LTX M&S tires on my last truck, and I was very happy with them, but I wanted to try the new Bridgestone Revo's.......I think I'll be very happy them. ;)

mowser,

I don't think I'll make 50,000 miles with my stock tires although
I rotate them every 7500 miles. I really like the looks of those
Bridgestones.......

I don't have the Revo's yet. I have done a lot of research and it looks like they may be the BEST AT tire out there. Tirerack.com has a lot of surveys from customers and the Revos are by far the best rated. A tire dealer in my area that sells Bridgestone and Michelin said the Revos were quite a bit better than the Michelin LTX ATs. He makes more per tire on the Michelin than the Bridgestone, but would rather see a good customer buy the Revos than the Michelin because he knows the customer will be much happier with the Revos. The Revos have the best rating for traction on dry pavement, wet pavement, ride comfort, ride quietness, mileage and snow traction. The next best may be the Geolanders, but they don't make a 265 75 16 in an E rated tire. My Steeltex tires are just OK, but I'm going to put on the Revos when the time comes, which may be next year. I put on over 20K miles last year. The only way those miles would have more fun would be if they would have been with the JUICE.

I have the Revo's--but not on the Duramax-YET. We have them on the wife's Durango. Lot.s of ice and snow here in last month and the Revo's really made a huge difference! The stock Goodyears always broke loose on any wet pavement--wife was a fussin! Revo's going on Duramax soon--going to try 285's this time

flarsen and mowser,

What size DUELER A/T did you choose for your 3500s
Can you put a taller and wider tire with this brand?

Thanks

I looked at the A/T Revo for my 3500 and it looked promising.

Ended up going with Cooper Discoverer A/T in LT215/85R16 in Load Range E. They have also worked will in snow, ice, slush etc.

56Nomad,
I went with the stock size (LT215/85R16 load range E) because I'd need spacers to go to a larger tire size........ :(

I have the REVOs (285/75R/16) on my truck (7368 lbs.) and they are great in the rain, light mud and road. No noise, wearing well, and look GOOD!

I had BFG All Terrain TAs on my truck before, and was not impressed at all. They were hard to keep balanced, did not wear well, and at 50% wear were not good in wet conditions.

Love my REVOs,
Michael

I have 1,200 miles on my 265 Revos, they are an Awesome tire. I had to wait 4 months to get them (longshore strike ?)from the Firestone dealer, but they were definetely worth it. Great in the snow and quiet. The V-steels that came with my truck had less than 1/2 the tread left after only 8,500 miles.I had the steeltex a/t on a previous HD and was happy with them for 40,000 miles but they are nowhere nere the tire that the new REVO's are. Hope this helps.

I now have 4,000 miles on my REVO's (265/75/16 E) and still very happy with them. They were good in the snow and I since I have found them to do well in the mud.
