Why aren't there any rear wheelwell liners???

Anyone know why GM chose not to use wheelwell liners on the rear wheels? Seems like stuff gets slung EVERYWHERE underneath because of the lack of such liners.

Does anyone make a aftermarket liner???

^............I made a set for mine. Used 1/8" thick rubber material that was intended for a tool drawer liner, insert. A few
tye-wraps, combined with a few rivets and a sheetmetal screw or two and I eliminated the mess that you are referring to. There may be after-markets that I am unaware of, but I had fun doing this as a last resort to boredom.

Not to long ago someone was talking about a tahoe rear wheel liners being a direct fit to our trucks and they was not that expensive either.Has anyone tried the tahoe wheel liners?

...and I'll push this one back to the top.

On my dually I put the biggest mudflaps I could buy on the back AND front to keep the slush/road salt from packing and freezing into the rear of the box flares and tearing up wiring for the markers and tailights. I swear I was carrying around an extra two hundred pounds of this crap by the end of last winter... The other bothersome thing is how exposed the engine bay (especially the ECM) is to salt and spray --- Does anybody else notice how the mud and salt **** "forward" between the front bumper and fender? What the he** is up with that? GM couldn't find 98 cents worth of plastic to PLUG that gap! Geniuses...

I've got my chequebook out and my pen in my hand... Someone must be selling a better fix for this problem than oversized mudflaps...

I don't know if this is an option or not, but the guy in my area that does spray-on bed liners (Armor Coat)said that he did two duallys with his product. Apparently he has two types of coating, a textured surface and a smooth surface. The smooth surface seems to be easier to clean. I suppose as long as there was no way to get water between the liner and the wheelwell, no rust. Probably costs less than $150. He also said it cuts down on road noise (Hmmm don't know about that part). Anyway, something to think about.

Ok guys/gals. I was looking in the wheel wells at the sand and rock traps along the pinch welds. That's gonna be a problem in about 5 years. RUST! Has anyone tried the liners from the Tahoe or found a direct fit product? Even D*&^% and F%^& put liners in their trucks.

Interesting, you say that the wheel wells from a tahoe will 'direct fit' the rear wells of our trucks? What year tahoes? Or doesn't it matter?

As luck would have it, my dad's '96 Tahoe just blew the tranny @ 200k+ miles, I have to bring it up to the house sometime, so I'll check that out. Hope he won't mind too much :D missing a well or two. May not even notice ;)
