Anyone else notice an increase in the amount of oil left in the pan after installing a Fumoto Drain Valve?
I used to put in 8 quarts of oil after draining the oil before the valve installation.
Now (even after letting it drain ALL night in a heated garage), I hit the full mark before 7 quarts are put in. So, at least 1 quart is still sitting in the engine.
I'm thinking that the valve is protruding above the threads in the oil pan, thus leaving a layer of oil at the bottom of the pan. Next oil change, I'll remove the valve and try "shimming" it with washers so the valve does not go above the threads in the pan - if that's what is going on.
Anyone have any other ideas?
