Ford NGD2 and 5R110 Trans.

I just got a look at the new 6.0L engine and newly developed 5R110 tranny today. It was in the Ford Excursion and was on display here at the Indy Engine Plant. Very quite running engine. I can not compare it to the Duramax because I have never heard one run yet, but I will at the rendezvous. When I asked the engineer about the tranny and how in compares to the Allison he said he really could not compare it yet. He did say that he drove the Duramax. With a little reading between the lines I would say the 5R110 is not up to the Allison standards.
