No High beams??

Is it possible for my dimmer switch to burn out and act as follows?
Normal operation on low beam and when you switch to high beams you have no high beam and you lose low beam??

Low beams are off when high beams are selected, so, yes. Lots of possibilities. Don't overlook the obvious one: burnt out bulbs. I got into an argument over this with a customer once. Swore it couldn't be burnt out bulbs because it happened all of a sudden. Yesh, right, first one bulb then all of a sudden the second one...
