I'm working on an idea for an intake/airbox/airfilter mod and I was wondering if any of you know the "normal" surface temp of the turbo inlet where the rubber boot goes. I want to make sure what I fab up doesn't melt.
Thanks
Jim

Jim, I think that the Turbo outlet and If IAT goes to that pretty high. Hope that helps.

DAAAA silly me the inlet from the airbox.........

you can go to ebay and get silicone elbows and couplings that are rated for the heat....one thing to remember is that if anything does go wrong, that "wrong" will go thru the turbo....ka-boom :(

Panhead,
Good point. That is why I want to ensure all connections are tight and temp rated. Once I get the plan ironed out, I'll share with all to get feedback before spending the $$ to fab it up.

Plan on 300deg outlet air temp should be safe.
Continuous average of 200deg.

As stated above, all sizes silicone tubing are available on E-bay.

Great, this gives me the info I needed. I've got another post asking about the air flow in the fender so I don't have to take mine off the figure it out.
Thanks
Jim
