Ok folks a little info please.
We have a 96 ps with about 122,000 on it.
How do we fix the cackle?
It doesn't do it all the time but when is does it is very annoying.
Seems to be coming from the pass side.
Thanks for the help.

Inspector,
The cackle noise is coming from the # 8 injector rear part of the motor on the passenger side, This is caused from a lack or low oil pressure to that injector which will cause it to fire inconsistance or somewhat dry fire on ocassion,Also from the heat that the exhaust side of the turbo produces in that corner of the motor plays a big roll too. Heat and fuel don't mix. There are serveral way to fix it .
Ford has come out with a long lead injector for a short term fix.But by doing it, it really does not cure the problem.Just makes it a little quite
You can plumb the rear part of the heads with serperate fuel lines which is a real pain. The other is go to high performace injectors that seem to be the easiest fix but can be quite costly.Another problem lies in the HP oil pump, because the pump is the unit that will make your injectors fire,Low Pressure will prevent the injectors for fireing correctly. Hope this helps
