If I order rims online sight unseen, how will I know if the 8 lug pattern matches my truck and not some other brand of truck with 8 lugs? Also, if i order 16x8 rims for say a 285 tire how will I know about the back spacing? Some people here mention rims and others mention the same width rims but talk about back spacing. When I see rims advertised online they never mention back spacing. While checking around trying to answer my own questions I found a site that might be of interest.http://members.aol.com/agspeed/tiresize.htm
Thanks

8x6.5 bolt circle is what you need for a 2500hd.
16x8 wheel with 4.5 inch back space seems to work best for non-lifted trucks.
Good luck, Steve

16x8 rims with a 8x6.5 bolt pattern work perfectly for 285's. The optimum back spacing would be 4.50 - 4.75. Once you have found a set of rims that you like from a retailer online, go to the manufacturers website and try to find the rims you like, they should have all sorts of info for you to look at.
