Tourbuddy Aux. fuel tanks

Has anyone used or has any knowledge about these aux. fuel tanks? Unusual feed system but they would keep the center part of the bed free as they sit before and after the wheel wells.

I looked into these before buying my TransferFlow crossbed tank. Although nice and compact and relatively inexpensive, these Canadian built tanks use gravity flow to feed the OEM tank, and are illegal to use on U.S. roads. You might never be caught using them, but if you were to be involved in an accident, particularly if there were a fuel spill, you could be in VERY deep doodoo.

does that mean that canadians can't use them on our roads? or are we allowed to be rolling firebombs [waiting to happen] up here eh?
