I am interested in a free flowing exhaust for my '05; however, I am not sure which one to buy. If you go from the converter back then you still have restriction so what is the point? Does anyone make a free flowing converter and would it set off engine codes? From what I understand if I take off the converter I will set off engine codes and I do not want to do that.

I would like a nice sounding exhaust that reduces restriction but that is not excessivelly loud. My goal is to lower EGT's - better fuel milage and more power would only be a bonus.

I would like a 4" set-up with a 5" tip free flowing converter and free flowing muffler. I also like the looks of the band clamps instead of the u-bolt type clamps.

Is there a simmilar set-up out there?(to what I have described)

If anyone has any info, helpful opinions, advice, or suggestions, I would really like to hear them. THANKS

We have a kennedy 4' into 5'" on a 2005 3500 dually, NO CAT. Sounds excellent, Did not change noise in the cab, has the band clamps and fits EXCELLENT. Installed at 232mi. Vehicle now has 12,000 and has never set a code even with heavy towing.

I forgot to ad that I would like to have the 304 SS material. It is supposed to be the better material correct?

Thanks for your reply I looked at Kennedy's site. I had forgot about him selling ehaust.

Go with Kennedy 4" aluminized exhaust. I have over 100,000 miles on mine with no problems. Stainless is nice but not worth the extra money. I don't think any of us will keep the truck long enough to justify the price of stainless. IMO

409SS will rust, but 304SS will not. The cheap SS systems are 409SS.

I guess there's a reason that over 50% of the stainless steel sold is good old austenitic 304.

You will be doing yourself a favor by getting JK's exhaust system. Mine sounds great! He is the real deal.
