consumer applied bed liners

Have seen a couple of consumer applied bed liners shown on some of the weekend TV shows. Anyone have any experience with these. The Line-X in the following post is definitely nice, but expensive for old beaters that some of us have.

I bought some of the DIY bedliner stuff for another project -- not lining my bed, more as a anti-skid coating. The stuff is much softer than the commercial stuff such as Rhino or LineX and is a lot more easily damaged. I really doubt that I would consider lining a bed with it if you actually used the bed. I might consider using it if you used your bed like a trunk, if you know what I mean. Putting some boxes back there or light stuff -- not throwing angle iron, stone, and such in the bed.
