No problems whatsover on my '05 CC Sierra DMax. Mine took 9 weeks on order and picked it up last October. Can't believe its been that long already. Took it from SF Bay area to Tucson towing my small trailer in January. Not one problem and ran perfect. I love this truck! One thing, the original shocks were crap. Got way to much front end bounce on the highway so I replaced them at 500 miles with a set of Bilsteins. Rides a little firmer but no more of that sloppy bouncey ride. Good luck on your new Sierra.

Thanks Dan,
I love my 02 also and look forward to the 05 D-Max as well. I'll add a few after market items and new 265 Michelins right away.
Then I'll see how it rides... maybe bilstens later.

Grayfox, enjoy that '05! I've had mine about 5 months, first new vehicle I've ever owned, what a dream! Heads up if you have a CA or Northeastern emissions standard version if you plan on installing a performance exhaust system. The federal emission standard units don't seem to have the problem described in the Duramax 6600 forum, see the messages under:

Performance Exhaust system '05 DMax "Check Engine" Light

Since mine is a CA version, I think I'll wait till a little more research is done before adding mods. Some CA folks don't seem to have any problems, then again mine may be more sensitive than most. Best regards.

Riverchucky,

Thanks for the info. I'm just a little concerned about the LLY VS the LB7 with some reports of the LLY being down on power and performance vs the LB7. It's hard for me to understand how the new version can be that off with the big jump in torq.

My new '05 doesn't seem to lack power whatsoever. Cruise control maintains speed up I80 grades to North Tahoe and up the grapevine with full load of gear and passengers no problem!
