What the hell is up with this? First it's free, now they want to charge. Can't they make up their mind?

I use my ISP (service provider) space for my stuff. Most accounts allocate a certain amount of webspace for your personal use.
There are many ways to upload your pictures. First see if your provider offers free FTP (File Transfer Protocol)software or an integrated upload feature.
I actually have two providers.
Comcast for high speed internet. They give you 25 Meg free space per email account with 6 email accounts available. They also provide a JAAVA (censored word when spelled correctly) based upload application that runs in your browser.
My second ISP is fcc.net. That's where all my hoot stuff is located. It's a $19.99 dial up account. The only reason I still have it is they have not restricted my uploading at all. I cannot get my entire data package over into my comcast account so I am kinda stuck right now until I spend the time to back up everything on that site and take it down. Then I'll redo on a much smaller scale on my Comcast account.
I currently use two methods to upload to fcc.net. They don't have a upload assistant as far as I know.
I use CuteFTP or Netscape Upload. It's my stuff and I have 100% control over it.

Try:
www.webshots.com
It is free, at least for now. Webshots has a program to download onto your PC to manage/edit your albums and MUCH EASIER to use than PictureTrail IMHO. PC Magazine mentioned Webshots in a recent issue - something like 20 million users
My PictureTrail account was free for about 1 year, then limited access, and now they are totally restricted unless I pay - I can't even access them. It's not the $, but too many of these sites have gone belly up after they started to charge.
All the links in my sig go to Webshots.
