Hot new item !!!! 3100# rating, forged 1-piece
19.5 dually wheels. Hub centric & lug centric. Polished in and out. includes polished centercaps and lugs. Style looks like classic alcoa with 8 round holes. Also available in star style, directional and many others. I can e-mail photo of 8 hole on my 01 GMC crew dually. It will show 6 aluminums on my GMC. Had to put in longer studs in rear but O what a look. Running 225/70/19.5 michelin XZE tires. 60-70 psi rides as good as stock setup. Michelin website shows 65-95 psi with 95 being max. Can also run 245/70/19.5 Post any questions and I will be glad to email photos. I got them at www.brentzwheels.com (http://www.brentzwheels.com) Tell him that Tex sent you.

Talked with an Alcoa rep the other day at a show. They will have 19.5's that will direct bolt up to 8 bolt GMC vehicles. He said for sure on dually wheels. Not sure about single rear wheel (sounded like no).

This conversion sounds very interesting. One of the things I didn't like about the new dually I just bought was the 16" tires. However, I was told when I bought the truck that you cannot increase tire size by more than 1% without having problems with the way everything on the truck works. Is there any truth to this?

Hoghunter,
Going to larger size wheels & tires will require a recalibration for the speedo/odo and the ABS brake system. Most of the tuners, i.e. Predator can accomodate the speedo/odo calibration, but the ABS change will have to be done by the dealer. Also, Rickson sells a product called the TrueSpeed which is an inline converter for the speedo/odo signal. Remember that should you have a performance issue, i.e. trans not shifting correctly, or slipping or an engine performance problem, the dealership will not do warranty work until the OE size tires & wheels are on the truck.

Heartbeat, thanks for the info. The warranty issue seems to prop it's ugly head on just about everything aftermarket that you want to do with these trucks. I've talked with the service manager at the dealership where I bought the truck and his response to me "we'll work with you on anything that happens." Him and most of his mechanics are speed demons and have hopped up trucks. The only problem is if I breakdown while on the road etc.

The guy I talked with that had 19.5's on his Duramax dually said dealer would not allow him to recalibrate speedometer. His change was about 5 percent. His response was he now has a 105,000 mile warranty!

Did you have to Program the cpu on the truck for the size of the tires and rims Or you just put them on and need no programming on the cpu. Won't it throw off the cpu since it's programmed for the original tires and rims. Any problems with speedo meter showing the right speed.
How does it ride and how is the fuel mileage better or worse.

Bowties4Life,

I did not reprogram the speedo or ABS. The ABS can be reprogramed for different tire sizes by the dealer using a Tech2, the speedometer cannot. You'll need an aftermarket device, such as the Predator, to correct for any speedo errors.

IIRC, the OEM GY Wranglers were about 30.5" in diameter, versus 32.5" for the Michelin 19.5" tires - a difference of about 6%. My speedometer is reading on the low side, and I take that into account (it's only a difference of 6 MPH @ 100, 3 MPH @ 50)
.
How does it ride and how is the fuel mileage better or worse.

The ride is firmer than the OEM setup. No complaints from the family on long highway trips. I would consider another option if you are looking for a smooth, cushy ride. I don't keep track of mileage.
