View Full Version : Bug Sheild that Works
Has anyone found a real good Bug Sheild that actually does deflect the bugs over the windshield? I already Paid out $65 for the Chevrolet unit that looks OK, but I would not say it deflects too many Bugs.
Sorry, don't think there is such a thing anymore. I searched high and low, ended up with a Lund Trident. Looks great and protects the hood area it covers (and only that area). Great mounting kit and stays off the paint.

Most of them just protect your hood, but do a good job of it. I only had my new truck for a week and less then 500 miles before I had two rock dings on the front of the hood.

I'd be curious to see how effective this is at removing bugs, esp. those lines of death left over from attempting to clear your windshield. They have a 59.00 rebate on installs and 10.00 for the product.

The old Mercedes I had in Germany had what looked like a heater hose ran into the winshield washer tank, the line in the tank was aluminum I think ,but copper would work well also. Anyway it kept the washer fluid hot and seemed to help it work better. It shouldn't be hard to do the same thing on our trucks.
