Guys, if you have a frame mounted fuel filter read this if you are thinking of ordering a TransferFlow midship replacement tank. I made an appointment and went to the TransferFlow plant to have the 45 gallon midship replacement tank for my 2004 LT D/A CC SB 4X4 that they offer installed. Before that I had installed the frame mounted Racor filter from Lubrication Specialist, LLC. Greg's filter system was easy to install and mounted nicely. To my suprise it was directly in the way of the TransferFlow tank. Now I wanted the tank and figured that I would just look at relocating the filter. TranferFlow would not install the tank because of the fuel line being compromised/cut at the location where the filter was mounted. They explained that it was a liability to them. After a while I started to understand their position on liability. They really liked the filter setup. One of the persons involved told me that he had the same truck and he opted to use the 30 gallon toolbox tank. After looking at his and figuring it would not be in the way of the fifth wheel hitch I went with it. I had just been talking with my wife about needing to figure how to put tools/chains/filters/etc in the truck. My 1984 CC 4X4 has more room under the rear seat and behind it for tools/etc. The toolbox now has now solved that problem. I hate losing the bed area yet with the fifth wheel hitch I do not have it either. I have a 6X8 utility trailer I will just have to use.
