View Full Version : Factory Running Boards for '03 GMC 2500HD Crew Cab?
Anyone know if there is such a thing? A link with a picture would be nice. Can I use the one's off a Yukon XL? Where and how much? I'm having a terrible time finding these and my pregnant wife is on the (my) case. smile.gif HELP!
jgun,
Have you considered J&J (http://www.j-jent.com/) Millenium Boards? I have a set on my truck (http://community.webshots.com/photo/72251092/80930257wCkveb) that I'm very pleased with. They are a little time consuming to install but well worth it (IMHO). They have the look of a nerf bar with the protection of a running board. Check out Steve Cornell's J&J Installation. (http://www.rtol.net/scornell/JJBoards.htm) (Excellent)

I have the factory Stainless step bars on my truck. Check my pics to see them. The fit and strength is great. one thing you probably can't see in the pic is the center brace. A lot of bars don't have them and end up sagging. If you want some close ups let me know.

jbplock, Those are sweet! I was sold on them right up until I saw the price. DAMN! That's about twice what the wife will let me spend.
BlueOX03, did you add the factory steps after you got the truck or were they already on? Any Idea how much they cost?
Thanks for your help guys.
Please post more options if you know of any.

I ordered them on the truck. The retail is over 500, but the cost is around 300 so you should be able to get a good dealer to come down on the price.

I have factory Suburban boards on my '03. Easy to install. The only thing cosmetically is they hang past the cab a bit. I wanted the Millenium boards but I only paid $100.00 new in the box for the Burb's from a conversion center locally.
If you want pics let me know.
JGun, better keep momma happy ;)

I had the fact running boards put on my reg cab(I told them the chrome tubular deals but they put the wrong ones on) They didnt look good IMO and I told them to put the kind on that I wanted. Look much better. Running boards look ok on a SUV but look cheesy on a truck JMO go with the tubular side steps.

I have the Westin Chrome tubes on my CC. Look fine in my opinion, helpt the 5'2" height challenged wife get in the truck. Under 3 hundred installed and they have a center brace.
jgun,
You may want to check-out Steelhorse.com They have "oem Style" running boards. I have them and people ask me what dealer I got them at?
