Any suggestions on which Fumoto Vlave to get? I have a choice of the standard or with nipple. I have made a mess changing my oil for the last time. I hope these valves are all they are cracked up to be.

Order 'with' the nipple. 3/8" hose fits the nipple to dump into jugs/whatever.

I bought the one with the nipple. This allows me to put a short piece of tubing on the valve to direct the oil into a pan or bucket. Also, someone posted earlier that you can use a 1/8 inch NPT die and put a pipe thread on the nipple. This would allow one to place a 1/8 inch pipe cap over the nipple. This is a safeguard, if you have a fear of the valve accidently opening.

Definitely nipple.

Does this thing basically screw in, replacing the factory oil drain plug?

If so, what's the thread size/pitch? I assume metric?

I sure made a mess on my first oil change because most of the oil went down the off-road skid plate and missed the pan completely

Would they be pointier if it's cold out....So as the oil will clear any snow jammed in the skid plates.

Leave it to a South Tejas guy to start w/ the sexual inuendos.... :D :D :D

As for 'safeguarding the Fumoto'. I have no idea why. 1 in a billion chance of that thing opening on grass, rocks, etc.
