engine oil temp. guage

I have a oil temp. guage to install, but I can't find where I can put the sending unit. If anyone can give me some help it would be appreciated.

Here's where I put mine, by the oil filter. It's not the only place, but it was easy and I get accurate results.

That is where I thought but I seemed to have trouble with the unit fitting. Think I will go try again.

Hi Steve,
After looking at your picture of the temp. sending unit I realized that I didn't have the correct adapter. I now have the gauge installed, but have small oil leak. What thread sealer did you use? I will need to reseal the threads again.

I used a teflon thread sealer, the heavy stuff for gas pipes, it's yellow instead of white.
