I'd like to get an aftermarket radio for my '03 GMC (has the Bose 6 CD stereo), and get a removable XM module so I can use it in the house.

Do any new radios work with the steering wheel buttons?

Anyone replaced theirs?

I miss my XM radio when I'm at work!

I don't care about the Onstar capabilities.

Delphi makes a multi purpose XM unit. It takes up some room though. XM is week area for me, but I think a couple other companies are making multi- purpose set up like it, maybe even a smaller one. As far as using the steering wheel remote, you can use them with just about any head unit if you have the right adapter. Go to www.pac-audio.com (http://www.pac-audio.com) and look for the SWI-X. As far as wiring an aftermarket radio in, they've got you covered there as well, look for OS-2BOSE. For mounting the head unit into the dash I'd go with the Metra 99-2003, with it, you can set it up just about any way you want. You may even be able to mount the XM dock with the head unit. For those with no OnStar or Bose all you need for wire is the Metra 70-2003T.
I hope this gets you on the right track. I need to get my little cheat book together.
