View Full Version : Rubber Floor
I'd like to remove the carpet in my '02 2500HD crew cab and replace it with the plain rubber flooring. GM wants $400 for the part. Anyone know where to get a better price? Or want to trade one for my brand new black carpeting?
--Husky liners or other similar products won't do for my line of work.

I considered this "downgrade" a couple years ago when I bought this F250. My previous truck had rubber instead of carpet and it was pretty handy here in the Pacific Northwest, our winters can get messy. It seems to me that I saw them in JC Whitney. I never did change mine, made do with mats.

I have been looking also. Haven't found anything for our new body style yet. Maybe these companies.

I put the factory rubber floor in my F350, and it cost me $125, one piece from Ford. GM wants $400? WTF

I would think that for $100-$200 a guy could remove the seating and have the floor Line-X'd. Better yet, do your bed liner and floors at same time for a package deal.

Hey W/T,
Thats a pretty good idea from someone that has a modified 8-track player. tongue.gif
I'll have to see whats under the carpet. Wires, cables. Good thinking.
You must listen to the Motor City Mad Man alot....eh?

I thought about doing that, but there is too much wiring, plus you lose the sound deadening material.

Sound deadening issues should not come into play if you are replacing carpeted flooring with a spray-on (in). Since you are giving up the padding and carpet for easy clean I would say that the spray-on would deaden much better than just laying rubber matting down. Plus you could cover all the cracks and prevent some future creaking at joints.
Normally I have the 8-track cranked-up so loud I can't hear anything else anyway.
Yikes!
