New Batteries

I want to replace the oem batteries with two Optima yellow tops. I do alot of camping (dirtbikes) and have my stereo on for extended periods. The yellow tops will allow me to drain them completely, and charge em' back up without worring about failure. I had one in my 96 Silverado and never had a problem.

Has anybody done this? And why are there two batteries? Will it hurt if I exceed the stock CCA's?
