I've got an 03 with the Bose in-dash CD changer. My question is about the three buttons that select the radio presets and which CD to play. On my unit, the 3-4 and 5-6 buttons are lit, but the 1-2 button is totally dark. Is this the same on all the units (i.e. a design "feature"), or is everybody else's 1-2 button lit at night?

I'd guess that the LED that lights it is bad or may not have been soldered in correctly at the factory. I've seen quite a few QA issues with stock GM radios, like the one in my 03. It's most likely time to make use of the bumper-to-bumper part of the warranty.

OK...as promised I checked and they all light up.

Guess I dont have the 1-2 "lights out feature", time for an upgrade :D

I have had my 6-disk replaced. The thing just went crazy..and then stopped working all together. Now I have a new radio (4 to 5 mounths old) and seems to like the "preview" channel on XM. Sometimes my presets work on the wheel and when they don't, I push any pre-set on the radio and the wheel controles work like they should. Gm has big talk about their radio systems..but they're not really what they are hyped up to be.

However, I'll have the GPS feature in my 04' or 05', whatever it turns out to be. ;)

my 6-disc does the same thing with the preview, probably every 5th time I turn on the truck.

And this morning the rear speakers "clicked" 4 or 5 times and went out. Using F/R balance didn't work. Shut it off, turned it on and they were back.

Then there's where it doesn't work at all. It's done that twice now.

Stupid cheap radio.
