I just bought one from dealership here in Edmonton for $85 regular price. And I got to pay with our monopoly money instead of that expensive US stuff smile.gif . The difference in cost would more than pay the cost of diesel to get here, just the cost of the ferry would bite.

How much do they want for one in Victoria?

Nowhere in BC could I get it for less than ~1250Cdn...I got a good deal so I passed it on.

I would be suprised if there was $25 worth of material in it (its mostly blow molded plastic). You could argue with its functionality that its worth 250 but 1250 :rolleyes:

I suppose with BC's tax regime that means the dealer charges $100 and the Government charges an $1150 "That's really a cool item tax". (Yes I have been bit by some of those ridiculous taxes they invent on that side of the Rocks) smile.gif

Maybe I should clean out the dealer here and meet everyone from BC in Vancouver about Christmas, it would be a Merry Christmas for everyone ;)

Retail on the item out here is $1600+. One guy said his cost was $1192 and would wholesale it to me for $1300. Another guy said his cost was $990, and would sell it to me for $1250. And said his hands were tied with regard to the old price, even talkd to GM parts direct and to the local GM rep about it.

And that wasn't including our 14.5% taxes.

We were out there this summer and was amazed to see how cheap diesel was, glad I didn't go shopping for truck stuff.

Well, I phoned around Edmonton and the remaining $85 one was gone. And they knew what I was phoning about, too. So I'm thinkin' about getting some more for $250. Anyone else interested? It's a great box, but not worth what the dealers are wanting for them.
