Is there an improvement in light? Do they work with JK's harness? Are they too bright for driving in snow? Thanks for any info.

I have liked the look of the Denali and was wondering what it would take to do the conversion. It just so happened that there was a 2002 Denali parked nose to nose by my truck over the weekend. It appears as if everything in the front is different except for the grill frame. Has anyone else done this conversion? Mainly concerned about sheetmetal changes.

I am in the process of doing this, have all the parts, just need to find the time when it is not raining. I will post the steps involved along w/ any night driving improvements. More later

I, too, would like to change my Sierra headlights to the Denali projectors. From what I understand, the headlights are interchangeable, and take only minutes to swap. The harness plugs, however, are different, as the bulbs are different. I talked to JK several weeks ago about a harness for Denali headlights, and he was working on one for another customer, but was having some problems with it. His standard "headlight booster" harness won't work with the projector headlamps.

I forget his forum handle, but he did get things working on his TRUE Denali. One issue is that the headlamp sockets are NOT keyed in that the same bulb is used for high and low. Once this was set, he ended up having a bent or retracted pin. This was fixed and all is now well.

I have another guy doing the Denali housing conversion. This hybrid kit has 9005/6 switching connectors and 9005/9005 output connectors.

The Denali headlamp capsules that I am using are LH 15166756 and RH 15166757. I have JKs harness that uses four 9005 lamps. The additional purpose of JKs harness for the Denali capsules is that it allows you to use different 9005 lamps in the low beams. The factory Denali wire harness/capsule use a 9006 lamp for the low beam and a 9005 lamp for high beam. Same as the Sierra. The difference for the OEM Denali capsule is that it uses a differnt 9006 lamp then the Sierra. Both Denali 9005 and 9006 lamps are 65 watts made by Phillips in Germany.
Hope I said this clearly. Let me know if you have any questions?

Stage 1, are your headlights in your truck yet?

Hi Steve,
No, just got back from a trip, first 2600 mile on the new truck. Will likely install them this weekend, once I get all the salt off the truck. Will provide update once installed.

Steve,
I just completed the installation of the Denali headlight capsules. It was very easy, wo/ any modification to the truck. Also used John Kennedy's wireing harness and bulbes. Added some pictures to web site below. Remove the existing capsules per the owners manual instructions. The Denali capsules come w/bulbs. [You should be able to unplug your Sierra capsules and reconnect to the Denali. The Denali capsule uses four 9005 bulbs, and include a jumper wire for the low beam 9005 bulb to be connected as a 9006 to factory harness]. Also installed John Kennedy's headlight harness along w/Denali capsules at the same time. John made a harness for me w/four 9005 plugs, therefor I did not use the jumper wires included w/Denali capsules. Now after doing the installation, I think John's standard harness will connect fine w/jumper wire.
Only caution if using John's harness take your time fitting the right side capsule. Their are several connections/wires that you have play with to find their correct placement to allow capsule to be installed. I installed the outer pin and then move the wires around to find positions that allowed capsule to be placed for inner pin to be intalled. It is not hard, just take a little time. Let me know if you have other questions?
