I was looking for a Billet grill for my 03 2500HD, but it seems that there are plenty of them out there. Which ones do you guys recommend as being the best? I am looking at the cutout version, not the overlay and want the polished version.
quad1100,
I would recommend you post this question in the 2500/3500 Accessories
forum.

I installed the billet grille where you cut out the old one and insert the new one, the main reason I did this was because the old grille had GMC in the middle and in the 2002 these letters covered my tranny cooler completely. Now if I were to do that again I would buy the complete unit including all the chrome around the lights etc. they cost around $500. It would then be a straight forward bolt-in instal.Although I did a bang up job it was hard to cut the old one neatly and when you look closely you can see where it once was. Also I had to use my imagination and fabricate installation brackets etc. since the hardware that came with the kit was incomplete.I hope this helps. Stu

I think it was www.stylinconcepts.com I usually get rid of those accessories catalogs real quick before I start ordering so I could'nt find one to be sure. Look at Trenz billet grilles.Stu

Anyone know offhand if the grill inserts(were you keep the factory center peice and just ditch the plastic grate) affects fit of the cold weather front?
How bout the full billet grills?
I'm thinking about some inserts or something for my chevy since the plastic grate looks kinda cheesy IMO but i kinda like the looks of the rest of the grill.

The shops I talked with wouldn't install a billet grill on the HD's because the OEM plastic grill is chrome plated and will peel after it is cut. I replaced the entire grill ($350 Stull). Looks great and allows full air flow to the Xmission cooler.

Well I think after extensive research I am going with the Putco Liquid grill, I think it looks nice and it is a bolt over. Sorry Kevin
Anyone have any pictures of this grill in an 03'? All I can find are the 02's

I ordered it today, I will post some pic's when I get it installed.
I decided not to go with the ol' standard billet grill. I went with a polished stainless flammed grill from DJMotorsports and it great. Install took about a 1/2 hour. Just something that thats different.

I received the grill a few weeks ago and the mounting studs were broken off the back do to shipping damage. They sent me a replacement and guess what, the studs are broken off them too. I called Putco up and told them there packaging sucks! They said we know, so I guess I am not the only one. The sad thing is I don't think UPS will cover it because, to tell you the truth there wasn't any damage to the boxes, they just have terrible packaging. I will be surprised if I ever get a grill in one piece if it comes by freight. This time they told me to request the extra special packaging because it is the third attempt. I'm crossing my fingers; maybe one day I can post a picture!

Sorry to hear about all the shipping/return trouble. That would really irritate me ... I would have given up after 2 grills. It looks like your persistance paid off, the grill looks sweet. smile.gif
