Finally - some relief. A.R.E. and the dealer finally offered to buy back my second defective ARE canopy, agreeing I had been given terrible service and the run around. Only took 20 months and 2 defective tops. The first top had a improperly fitting rear door (1" air gap) and on the second (installed 6 months ago) there was a huge dimple (caved to the inside) on each side, and the unit finally developed cracks (the last straw). I don't believe the problems are prevalent on their Z or other canopies, just the CX or CH series WITHOUT SIDE WINDOWS. Anyway, it took them long enough to do the correct thing, but the end result worked out OK. I would encourage anyone who wants a canopy with no side windows to avoid ARE, but their other canopies as shown on this site are OK. I'm going back to Leer where I had no problems with more than 10 canopies over the years.
