Center Console Video

I found this product on Ebay. Its a custom 7" LCD video monitor that's fits in the center console. It replaces the area where the tape deck is. Item number: 3037343920

Has anyone seen this product or something similar to it installed? I wonder how the angle of it is, at least for the passenger in the front seat. What are the opinions on rear seat monitors? One flip down from headliner or two headrest monitors.

Any innovative places on where to put the dvd player? I have seen fairly small ones now. DIN size, (size of standard head unit). I would like it some where out of way yet still accessible to change dvds. I seen one in the glove box, clean install.

This is the LCD only. The audio for your mobile video system should come
from wireless headphones, or through your stereo system. Thank you and it

I used MITO CORP'S KWIK KLIP DVD BRACKET (http://www.mitocorp.com) to mount a portable DVD player at the rear of the center console - good for the back seat passengers only...

A 2 channel wireless headphone system and power inverter were installed hidden inside the console. RCA A/V inputs and 120V outlets were added to the rear of the console. Now THAT is way cool looking!

Looking at the Accelevision web site, I think the LCD is the LCD7RR which is a 16:9 widescreen w/ 1440x234 resolution as mentioned in the eBay ad. What the ad does NOT mention is that this panel also has an RGB input option in addition to the regular NTSC/PAL input.

I'm thinking of getting one of these and an Alpine DVD changer that I can control with my Alpine HU and run that via the regular NTSC input.

Then run a VGA cable from my Dell Inspiron laptop (that has a busted LCD screen anyway) to the RGB input. This way I can view Autotap info on the LCD screen, not to mention browse my MP3 collection on my laptop HD and pipe them to the HU as well using the appropriate Alpine interface. Finally, I'll be able to run GPS software on the laptop (perhaps hacking into the OnStar GPS antenna).

This is too cool!
