I have read that a stepper motor can be replaced on the IP - and that is the code I am getting (34) - but does the pump need to come off the truck? That I have never done, but the stepper is right on top.

Thanks for any help. Rino

Rino,

The stepper motor is located on the passenger side of the pump behind the mounting flange. The screws holding it on are easy to get to (relatively speaking), and the stepper can most definately be replaced without removing the pump.

There is no calibration procedure necessary.

I'll add that the stepper motor SELDOM goes bad.

Typically, it is the "lay" of the pump is off a bit and the desired timing is outside the travel range of the stepper.

Well, for 2.5 years I have had a DTC 34 - stepper motor timing. The timing was set and reset. I was told that the stepper motor HARDLY EVER GOES out so I went to other things (IP 38K only). So, I changed lift pump, fixed other problem, but still SES 34. I put on a remote mount Heath PMD - still SES 34. I cleaned grounds, cleaned connections, light less, but still SES 34. What to do??? Could my stepper be one of the HARDLY
