I want to ugrade from the 245s that are lost in my wheel wells. What looks/works the best 265? 285? Do I have to crank the torsion bars for 285s, does that affect ride? I want to keep the stock rims and 90% of my driving is street/highway, but a aggresive look would be nice. I do not want a real noisy tire though. Thanks for your help in advance!

L decker,
I've upgraded my tires on stock wheels with the Dunlop 285's, no suspension modifications, No Rubbing either, no problems. Stability in towing as well. Some links below:

Taaciag,
The tires look great, thanks for the link. Has there been any negative effects of the new tires?
Since the tires are larger, did you notice a drop in RPM when cruising on the highway, or any effects on milage? Thanks againg for your time.

Ldecker,
I went to BFG 285's and had to crank the torsions up 3.5 turns to level the truck. On my GMC 03, I did have to shave a small bit of the lower Plastic bumber extention at the lower front wheel wells on each side.
Overall ride is not as quite nice as stock due to the torsions being a bit firmer, but It is still has a really good ride! With the BFG's AT KO's, I have very little noticable road noise. I did drop about 1 MPG in mileage with the larger tires, but well worth it.
Overall, 265 or 285's will make a little difference in ride quality, but IMHO it's worth it to fill up those empty wheel wells! I haven't noted any significant RPM changes, but your Speed "O" will be off about -7% with 285's.
Good Luck ;)
I just installed a set of 285/75/16 BadYear AT/S's on my 03', not tire rub 'yet' and I did not crank the torsion bars. I was able to get 275 bucks for my BFG 245's that came with the truck which made the deal that much sweeter.
I am kicking myself now cause the 305/70's would have fit!!! they are the same height as the 285's but 1" wider.. Anyhow, I am pleased!!
