4" Lift

Anyone know of a 4" lift that is made for the Dmax?

There are plenty of 6" lifts available, but the only 4" suspension lift I'm aware of is the Rancho #6548. I believe Gardnerteam is running this lift on his HD.

It is not listed on Rancho's webpage for Chevy suspension lifts (Rancho's website is terrible), but you can find the press release for it here:

Don't confuse the 6548 (2500HD-specific) with Rancho's 6545 for Silverado 1500 trucks.

I was told by the shop that lifted my truck that CST makes a 4" lift spindle for the HD's and you would be able to run 35" tires with that.

with that lift does it throw off your towing ability? It lookes awesome but I tow either a 22 ft enclosed trailer or a 29 foot travel trailer. How would that effect my truck if I were to put a lift kit on my truck???? :cool:

One of the reasons I went with the 4" was towing stability. I tow a 24' triple axle enclosed with total gross weights up to 27,000, several misc light trailers at higher speeds, and a 8 yard straight pull dump box trailer rated at 18,000 lbs, which I tow off road a lot moving dirt for projects - loaded and moved 80 yards yesterday and will do it again today. You can get 6" of lift out of the 4" lift if you adjust your front end. Has worked well for me in all the situations I put the truck to.

Atvpilot: The only thing that I have towed has been my 22' ski boat. I towed it about 700 miles round trip this past weekend. I did notice that it downshifted a couple more times than it has before on the same hills with the 285's I used to have. Granted I have not re-geared my truck yet and am still running the stock 3.73's. I figure that my boat weighs about 5000 lbs. My gas milage went down from 15 before to about 12-13 now.

Not to be a pain, but are you sure your gas mileage went down by that much? Did you have your speedo recalibrated for the new tires? If not, your fuel mileage calculations will be off.

I am an avid wheeler, but must of the trucks I deal with and my friends trucks are non-computer comtrolled systems. We recalibrate by changing the speedo gears in the tcase! With an electronic system, this may be something you already have done.

The way I measured my mileage was it took me 1/2 a tank to get me to my house in Lake Havasu(309 miles) and after my lift and tires it took me just under 3/4 of a tank to get there. That is both trips unloaded and towing nothing. I filled up both times in Lake Havasu and it took just under 4 gallons more with the 37" tires but I expected that.

OK - I will try to take a couple of pictures of truck showing lift, tires, bumpers, etc. It is not that I am uncooperative, but I am totally computer unfriendly and don't know how to post pictures etc. My way to solve computer problems is grab a bigger hammer, or if all else fails, give the computer screen a 12 guage double barrel enema. Only trouble with that one is I can't stop laughing. Have a digital camera and wife can put it on email for me. 2500 mile round trip to Mexico last week produced 17.1 mpg average on fwy at true speeds between 75 mph and 90 mph. 15 approx around town with some mixed towing and offroad thrown in. All in all, considering the weight (9200), lift, extra air drag on the front, fairly decent mileage, but not as good as the 93 6.5 Peninsular with the US Gear 25% OD which averaged over 19 with the same specs.
