I have a 2001 crewcab duallie and keep it covered up with a truck cover. It is a pain to have to take the antenna mast off when it is covered and I don't want to cut a hole in the cover. Has anybody had a aftermarket power antenna installed. If so what brand antenna and where did you put it? I would be most appreciative for your help. Thanks in advance.

I don't know if this manual antenna idea will work for you, but I was trying to find a GOOD AM/FM antenna that I did'nt have to remove from my boat every time a put the cover on it. I was walking through a Crestliner boat dealership and watched a salesperson push an antenna down on a new Crestliner boat. He used a dime to turn the slotted tip of the antenna (once it was down) to lock into the down position. I went over to the boat, put a dime down into the antenna slot gave it a 1/2 turn and up came the antenna to full hieght. It seemed like the antenna was either spring or shock assisted?
I went back to the parts department and ordered one for my boat. I don't see any reason this type of antenna would'nt work for your truck ? It should fit the same location and would be a lot less expensive and easier to install than an electric. My order cost approx $34.00, I'm sure there are many other variations of this manual up/down antenna out there.
Good Luck! :D
