Removed my roof trim panel the other day, to gain access to the windscreen seal. Wind was leaking in
from the seal approx 6" left of the rear view mirror.
After removing the roof trim, I noticed that 2 sections of approx 17"x20" has been cut out of the inner roof panel. The section that would support an Overhead counsul were still intacked.
I noticed that a lot of half circled shavings were lying in the trim, so concluded that these panels were cut out by a nibblet tool.
I cannot find any indicators that the vehicle has had any replacement panels due to an accident or roll-over.
My Question is why would someone cut these panels out???????
options so far are;
1. Potential places for 2 sun roofs.
2. To gain access in replacing roof or repair panel.
