Hi guys,

I just picked up a K2500 6.5L manual truck. Long story, but it was cheap and besides the fact that it broke a crank, it's in awesome shape. But here's the question:

It has a 3" body lift that I will remove when the engine comes out. I would still like to run 33" tires, but that means a 4" suspension lift. There aren't many companies that make lifts for the 8 lug trucks. Does anyone have experience/info they would be willing to share? I don't want to use lift blocks in the back either. Springs are the only way to go. If need be I could always fab up a lift as all they do is drop the front axle and lower the a-arm mounts. Then I would have to go with the lighter truck spindles that are taller (some lift companies make them).

Any advice would be cool,
Waldo

Talked with a friend of mine that runs a custom truck shop and he recommends the Rancho kit. They come with blocks, but new springs are an option. Said not to pay more that $1300 for the kit w/ blocks. Not sure on the price for springs because we don't know which ones you have. Said there is nothing wrong with using blocks. The only time he has ever seen one spit out was because the u-bolts were loose. Hope I helped.

Sidedump,

Who is your connection to get a lift for that kind of money? The rancho part# is 6469 and the cheapest I have found it is is 1500.00.

Thanks,
Waldo

Sidedump - maybe I should clarify that this has the eight lug wheels.

My friend is no longer in sales. He went back into the shop to do installs. Said 8 lug does make a huge price jump. Look to spend about $1700 for the Rancho kit. Sorry,
