Time to ask for Help

Today I started my truck and it ran fine for about a minute then, while at idle, I heard a crack, none metalic, and the engine went quite rough and rattled. I shut it down and restarted it and it still ran rough. Shut it down again went to open the hood and restarted it and it ran fine.
I have not yet had time to looked for codes.
Since it corrected itself the only area I can think of was some form of injector malfunction, stuck open or closed.
Any thoughts.

This could be WAY off, but as a check, make sure the crank pulley & harmonic balancer are intact??
People spoke of noises, rough running when one of them failed....

And it wasn't the AC compressor clutch; or a bolt in the AC/vac pump bracket cracking??
