Is anybody using the BD X Monitor? If so, how do you like it?

I have the X-Monitor installed and love it. It sits low om the pillor and does't block my view like I thought the other guages did. I only have to scan one guage instead of three.

I have had mine for 5 months now and I am very satisfied with it, no problems. We haul a 14,000 lb. 5th. wheel and the X-monitor provides us the information we need when towing. We do a lot of towing in the mountains and want to make sure that the EzAMP is monitored when we are pulling up those long mountain passes. I recommend the unit especially if you are using the ExAMP.

I just purchased the xmonitor and am planning to install it soon. Not quit sure what the purpose of the remote sensor and the measurement at the exhaust brake?

Hey jannal
Wat kind of temps are you seeing when pulling with your X Box and what level is your EZ Amp set at. I also have one but have not pulled with it yet.
Cheers

Hi Bearman, we haul a 5th. wheel with a combined weight of 22,000 lbs. On the longest steepest grades we reach about 860 degrees with an outside temperature of approximately 85 degrees. We have set drive at 4 and tow/haul at 2. I am tempted to try tow/haul at 3 as we are not getting high exhaust temperatures at 2. We will be leaving our place here in southern California at the end of the month and should experience some temperatures in the high 90

Your exaust temps seem low, where did they place the probe? I think at the turbo you would be seeing 1100 +. I am no expert, but I had mine installed at a dealer and the probe is a long way down stream from the turbo and I am not happy with that. Temps on mine seem low to. I will be towing my 5er and boat this week (22000 lbs +)and I will let you know how mine is reading
Cheers
Bear

Hi Bearman, I do not know where they installed the probe although I think it may be a distance downstream from the turbo. Prior to installing the EzAMP my engine temperature did not climb much even pulling rig in 100 degree temperatures. I

I believe that's a backpressure monitor.

I have had the X monitor on my 03 D/A for the last 2 months. I like it most of the time. If the display is in bright sunlight you cannot read it. It has 4 levels of brightness...you have to adjust it for night and daylight driving. I have had analog gauges on my last 4 diesel pickups. I think that I liked them better. I have the rear diff. temp on mine.. My pyro. probe is mounted directly in the passenger side exhaust manifold. My peak EGT has been 1200 degrees F. The peak boost has been 21.5 lbs. I have a banks 4 inch (cat-back) exhaust, and an aFe stage 2 air intake system. I have not installed any kind of box.. I'm sure that if you are lucky enough not to have these D@#$ Calif. emissions on your truck your EGT'S will be lower..
