I have the orginal Lift pump 207K miles, it still runs 5lbs at idle and 2lbs at 65mph. Do I wait until if fails or do I be proactive and change it out. I have went through 2 IP in the same time but the lift pump keeps on ticking
thanks for your opinion

Most lift pumps generate about 6-8 psi at idle. GM's recommended minimum is 4 psi.
At 207K, you might buy a replacment, but I'd be inclined to keep it handy but not install it.

As long as it maintains psi and not a vacuum, you are fine.

Should the Lift Pump buzz like a tank mounted gas fuel pump?? Mine kinda goes "thunk - thunk - thunk". Truck runs and accelerates fine. Visual inspection indicates that it may be the original pump after 260,000 miles. Time for a change?
