Does anyone know how to remove the plastic covers on the Mirrors? I see where they can be removed in order to paint them or to replace with the chrome or American Flag covers. The covers are a smooth plastic as opposed to the rest of the mirror body which is grainy. My guess is that they just snap off, but as much as they cost I don't want to find out that I'm wrong. Any advice will be appreciated.

Cowboy Wild Bill,
I've got the Schefenacker TTT mirrors with the chrome covers. I will take a few pictures to show you how they slip off. There is only one little clip you need to depress and they slide off towards the pillar. You need to push with your finger on the lower left of the glass so there will be an opening at the top right of the glass and housing. Stick a long shank flat blade in from the top to depress the small keeper. It only has to be depessed about a quarter inch to do the trick. Give me a few minutes to figure out how to post pics.

Mike ;) ;)

Duh!,Boy am I dumb. I found the instructions on the Schefenacker site. For some reason my browser wouldn't go to the instruction page yesterday. It is a good thing I waited, it doesn't pull off. It has a release spring and clip like you said. I would have destroyed it if I had pryed it off. Thanks for your offer of the pics.I am glad I saw the pics on the web page, because it is a tricky place to find without knowing just where the clip is. Thanks again It is great having the all of the expertise from you and everyone on this forum. It has saved me a lot of trial and error. What a great resource this is! Last year I had the neutral saftey switch go bad, if I had not read about it and the symptoms it causes on this site I would have spent $683. at the dealer to diagnose the problem and replace the switch. Instead I replaced it myself for $48. Thanks again.
