Has anyone installed a hidden hitch on the front of your pickup? I'd like to be able to carry extra stuff up front. And or launch a boat with a slide in camper on. Do you think I would have to cut the airdam on a 03 siverado cc k3500 cc 4x4 thanx all jim

Yes. Had to trim plastic on bottom of bumper.

Initially just pushed the plastic back, but did not like it angling in from the ends. Only had to notch it an inch or so. Did not look bad. Framed cut out with door edge guard material.

Still have front hitch with replacement front end; no interference there.

Hitch works good, and was able to keep front hooks as well.

I found a couple frustrating things with the hidden hitch:
1) It's too low when mounted.
2) The reciever tube could easily be a good 1/2--3/4" longer.

I took some measurements and had the local hitch shop cut off the reciever tube. They welded a new longer one, they welded it on top of the cross tube, that way the hitch is higher (about 6" and the tube now comes out from behind the airdam. I think it looks and works great. Now I'm not plowing parking curbs when I have the winch installed.

Has anyone removed the plastic all together? Is there a different way to mount the fog lights?

Glamisboy,

Do you have any pics? The Picture Trail account is not operational. Before and after, if possible, or at least after.
Thanks
