1500 tailgate lip?

Anyone know if the tailgate lip from the 1500 trucks (more of a "shelf" than the cap the 2500's have) will fit the 2500HD?

Hi Mark,

Yes..... I did it, but you'll need to get the
4 special star headed screws that hold it on.
Once you take the old cap off, you'll find that they covered up the tapped screw holes that are manufactured into the tailgate.

It looks nice on my 3500 and it is easier to
grab and hold when closing the tailgate
