LineX over rail question

I have a Glasstite cap on order, and am planning on LineX over the rail. How far over the rail are people going?

I went about half inch down, you can see it with the cap on. It has faded compared to the rest of the line x. I went with this for protection and having enough area for the line x to grab.

Mine rolls over about 1/2". Can barely see it with the canopy on. I would do it again.

I talked with my installer on this issue. They sprayed it on top of the bedrail but did not come down the side any. I have not yet installed my ARE topper, but from my past experience with this cap, the Line-X will be completely hidden. This will gime me 2" of full contact with the cap. This offers the most protection while still concealing the Line-X from view and avoid the possibility of fading. As a side note, many installers of this product can color match to your truck color. My CC is the arrival blue color, and I opted for the color match option (~$125). It is a pretty good match IMHO.

Mine is only sprayed on the top of the rail, and I like it that way. From the side there is no black strip on the edge of the bed rail.

I have both the Glasstite and the LineX, my truck is black, you can not notice that it is there and no problems with the glasstite camper shell either.

I too have the line-x roll-over the side about 1/2" -3/4". My truck and cap are pewter and the black "breaks" the color up nicely.

I have linex under the rail and ss rail caps for added sheet metal strength. My Raider cap fits well on top of the ss rail caps with about half an inch of ss showing between the cap and the truck box.
