Can the 2006 chevy tow mirrors be installed on my 2001 HD

I read in the past how the wiring changed, I think in 2003, for the power mirror options from the factory. Does anyone know the facts about this and what I will have to do in order to get the newer wiring style to work on my 2001 2500HD? Note: I have the power mirror option from the factory

While I don't have the facts concerning a swap like you propose, it shouldn't be all that difficult even if there's a bit of wire splicing involved. GM tends to maintain a standardized way of doing things - especially electrical.
