View Full Version : class V trailer hitch
Has anyone installed a Reese Class V trailer hitch on a 3500 truck? If so do you have to drill additional holes or will it fix in the original holes for the factory hitch?
Thanks,
Bill Lucas
I installed the Reese Titan receiver on my 2002 2500HD and needed to drill two holes for the middle bolt. There is also a little interferance with the spare tire during installation. Just pry it in or better yet, drop the spare tire. Installation was real easy and the hitch works as advertised!
Thanks for the info Russ.
I have a Bigfoot 10.6 slide in camper and I would like to pull a small utility trailer also. Thought I had best get a class V hitch.
Thanks again,
Bill

The class V hitch that I put on, I also had to drill the center holes. If I had a long bed truck, I would NOT have to drill these holes.
Bill, I see that you have the long bed truck, you probably just need to bolt them up. Remember to use Locktight on the bolts.

I just installed a Torklift Super Hitch on my 3500, no drilling at all, bolted right up. I've had both the Reese Titan V and the Super Hitch on my old Dodge 3500, the Super Hitch is a superior unit, stronger and more stable. Especially since you have a Bigfoot, the Torklift camper tiedown system is argueable the best on the market. I myself have a Bigfoot 10.11, great camper! Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Ditto to what Diesel Freak says.
I also have a Bigfoot camper (25c10.6)with a Superhitch (42" extension, I think) and pull a 20' ski boat with the camper on. You can't even tell its back there. Tracks great, no whip or sway even though my boat trailer is only single axle.
